Nature, Nudity (or Partial) & Not Needing Permission: How Outdoor Boudoir Became Part of My Healing
Jun 08, 2025
When I first picked up a camera, I didn’t know I was holding a tool for transformation. I just knew I loved light, emotion, and the quiet power of being present. What I didn’t expect was how photography—specifically outdoor boudoir—would become a mirror for my own healing.
Let’s be real: the idea of boudoir photography often comes wrapped in silk sheets and indoor glamour. That’s beautiful, but it’s not where I feel most me. I feel most alive when my bare feet are in the grass, when wind moves through my hair, and when the world isn’t asking me to perform—but inviting me to be.
That’s why I started offering outdoor boudoir sessions. Not just because the light is magic (it is), but because there is something radically empowering about being witnessed in your body, in nature, without shame. No studio walls. No forced poses. Just you and the elements, co-creating beauty.
For me, integrating outdoor boudoir into this journey is about alignment. It’s about reclaiming the parts of ourselves that have been told they’re too much, not enough, or only worthy under certain conditions. It’s about showing women—through the lens and beyond it—that they can belong fully to themselves, wherever they are.
This isn’t just a photography session. It’s a moment of saying: Here I am. Unfiltered, unboxed, and unapologetically powerful.
So yes, this blog is about joy. But joy isn’t always tidy. Sometimes, it’s wild and raw and found between branches, under golden skies, in the breathless realization that you are already art.
Welcome to this next layer of the Joy Experiment. We’re just getting started.
